TCANZ is changing its name to TechCommNZ. We are also updating our logo:
Why change the name?
Over the last two years, we’ve received feedback from members and from the business world that our acronym TCANZ does little to convey who we are and what we do.
The National Committee has been working hard to increase the brand awareness of the association and the profession in general – not only to attract new members but to inform and educate employers about what members do and how they benefit from employing Technical Communicators. The recent launch of a new TCANZ website has highlighted the need for rebranding and a logo update.
While we’re not changing the full name of our organisation, we are changing the nickname that we use from TCANZ to TechCommNZ – to make it more meaningful, and easier for people to understand what we do. We think this name better reflects our highly technical, professional membership.
As our membership grows and evolves we want to make sure that the brand reflects our commitment to you, and the Technical Communication community, to continually improve our services and profile in New Zealand.
When will the change happen?
We have finalised the new graphics and over the coming weeks you’ll see the new name appear on everything from our website to our newsletter and other marketing materials, along with a new look logo – pictured below. There will be a transition period where you may see both nicknames used – feel free to point these out to us if you do.
